Hi I’m Sadie Ingoldby a Graphic Designer based in Grimsby, UK.
I grew up in a house which encouraged creativity, in all honesty I am not sure if I know how not to be creative. This has instilled a love of things which are hand made, and inspired by nature however I don’t allow this to take over the creative process.
Since a young age I have been taking photographs, and I am a largely self taught photographer, I began with point and shoot cameras advancing to the SLR and then onto a digital model. I often use photographs I have taken to inspire and create some of my designs.
As a child I would prefer to learn something new than watch television, due to a childhood illness I had to be partially home schooled, I was never satisfied with the ‘lack’ of work left for me to do often completing it the same day as it was given, and I was always asking for more work. So arts and crafts became my additional work. I still maintain this work ethic preferring to keep myself busy by learning a new skill.
Currently I am studying for a degree in design specialising in graphics, the course also contains a marketing module. Quite firmly I believe these two factors are highly interconnected and as a result work most effectively when used in conjunction with one another.
I shall be honest I have very few skills when it comes to web design, I can create a basic html website, and can navigate my way around the back end of a word press site, and alter certain aspects of the site, these skills have been self taught by trial and error. Previous to this theme I had another theme which had set pages built into the template and in order to ensure that they went to the another part of my website I had to find the link in the php files and alter them.
My site has only changed to this theme because I wanted a fresher look to the site and somehow the website host was also receiving my test emails from the contact form enclosed in the theme and I couldn’t figure out why and as it was a free theme it didn’t come with additional support. So now I am teaching myself how to create basic content management websites so I can have a theme I am entirely happy with.
Whilst your here why not take a look at my portfolio page.
